This Is a New Day, A New Beginning

 Hello Everyone! 

I know not everyone will read this because I haven't made an announcement on socials but I have decided to stop posting on Instagram and TikTok indefinitely. 

This isn't a decision I have made lightly. To be honest, this decision has been a couple years in the making. Being able to chat with people online and find artists/cosplayers on social media has been a blessing and I absolutely love being able to do that. However, the downside is being on these platforms does not make me feel good. I know being informed on things is important and I will still do my best to be informed. But over consuming negative news headlines with negative tones and hearing people constantly talk condescendingly towards each other really messes with my head space. 

This doesn't mean I will stop posting on the internet altogether. I just want to shift how I use my time and be mindful on where I post. I want a platform where I can build a community and a platform that is completely my own. After what happened with TikTok in January I don't want to rely on a platform that could be taken away in a blink. But I still want a place where people can find my work on a platform and build a community. I think Youtube and this blog are the perfect place for that. Although people won't be able to find this blog as easily I hope I can still have the joy of posting things like I used to, spread joy to others, and still have conversations with other people. I have always wanted to have my own blog and YouTube channel but I didn't know where to start and I felt too scared to start. I need to be able to do things scared and do things for me. I can't wait to see where this next chapter of my life will lead me.  

Thank you all so much for sticking around. Funny enough, my three year anniversary for The Pastel Dreamer Instagram is really close so I'll do a reflection post soon. I am planning on posting a lot more to keep myself busy while I find new hobbies, learn how to live offline, and what I like to make blog posts/videos about.
