An Unexpected Journey
There was a girl who used to have big dreams. That girl would study movies for hours until she could recite them in her sleep. She worked on her art for hours and tried to be someone she was not. Would punish herself for not being "perfect" and perfectionism weighed her down. She wanted to be that girl who got into a top college, and be the best in her class but failed miserably because she HATED doing things that she did not want to do. Those dreams she had were cut short mid-way through March. "We'll stay at home for 6 weeks,” they said "and then we'll be back to normal." But those six weeks turned into a year and a half and OH the hardship she faced. She started to wonder if life was worth living. Felt depressed and hopeless many times and almost gave up hope. Wondered if the plans and dreams she had were imaginary, ever going to happen, or just a complete fantasy. But life has a funny way of taking detours and getting back on track. She's not sure if she'll ever get back to those dreams she had, but the scenic route gets you to the same place as the fast lane. It just takes a little longer with the scenic route. This blog is about that girl who is currently on the journey of getting back into the world. Who's life is messy and chaotic but also joyful and exciting. She's not exactly sure where life is going to take her but she hopes to share some of her journey.
